Tanks for the Memories

I'm heading out today for a solo road trip. Its another of the perks of being unemployed, and having wonderful relatives who will put up with watch my kids for a while. There will be new posts each day, but since I had to prepare them all ahead of time, today you will have a photo post. Some people do this on "Wordless Wednesday", but I have trouble keeping all the words to myself. You've probably guessed that by now!

ABRAMS

The Abrams: one hell of a tank
With thick armor that tankers can thank
For their lives. Almost none
Have expired in one,
Though one fell in a river and sank.

 

 

 

 

 WEAPONS SHORTAGE

Seems there was a young soldier, who, just before battle, told his sergeant that he didn't have a rifle. "That's no problem, son," said the sergeant. "Here, take this broom. Just point it at the Germans, and go 'Bangety Bang Bang'."

"But what about a bayonet, Sarge?" asked the young (and gullible) recruit.

The sergeant pulls a piece of straw from the end of the broom, and attaches it to the handle end. "Here, use this... just go, 'Stabity Stab Stab'."

The recruit ends up alone on the battlefield, holding just his broom. Suddenly, a German soldier charges at him. The recruit points the broom, "Bangety Bang Bang!" The German falls dead.

More Germans appear. The recruit, amazed at his good luck, goes "Bangety Bang Bang! Stabity Stab Stab!" He mows down the enemy by the dozens. Finally, the battlefield is clear, except for one German soldier walking slowly toward him.
"Bangety Bang Bang! shouts the recruit. The German keeps coming. "Bangety Bang Bang!" repeats the recruit, to no avail.

He gets desperate. "Bangety Bang Bang! Stabity Stab Stab!" It's no use.

The German keeps coming. He stomps the recruit into the ground, and says, "Tankety Tank Tank."

Thought for today: Never forget that your weapon was made by the lowest bidder.

The thought for the day leaves me with a warm fuzzy, but it's the truth! We pay for what we get, quality isn't always considered and we usually regret it.

I liked the photos of the tanks were great, now that is quality. I wonder how it slipped through the cracks ;-)

Enjoy your road trip. I am off on another one of my own, currently finishing my morning coffee while writing this in Ellensburg, WA. The sun is shinning, the wind is blowing and it is raining, although I think just a shower. That is good as I need to go out & drain the holding tanks soon, disconnect the rig & get on my way to the Life on Wheels Conference at the U of Idaho.

Have a wonderful trip! I liked the pictures. LMAO at the jokes. Two of those tanks do look like they are humping. I looked and looked but can't find even ONE LINK? It was a great post anyway. As for the Sunday post thang, I had to cut the list down for the 13 I hope you put them all in yours. I hated leaving some of them out. Did I mention you have a great mind? Enjoy your trip hun.
