More Cats

img_0772.jpgI’ve been telling you about Biscuit, the kitten who walked into our house and took over. Everyone loves him, even the old cat, Go Go. I think its because we were desperately low on testosterone in this household. Anyway, both my daughters are nuts about him. They dress him up, carry him around (even outside), feed him treats constantly, and fight over who gets to pet him next. Its a hard life for a little cat. Not really so little anymore, Biscuit is bigger than Go Go now and shows no signs or stopping this growth spurt. My girls decided the most fun business they could possibly open would be a Cat Daycare facility. You can see the signs they put up. “We will make them happy.” There’s something just a little pathetic about that. It reminds me of when I was a kid, and thought nobody loved me and my life had no purpose, except maybe to make my cat happy. Charlie Brown felt like that about his dog, to Snoopy’s advantage. Now I find that cats are a source of amusment, as you will see in these links.

THE CAT CAME BACK

(lifted from Wulfweard)catdeclawed.jpg
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving him 20 blocks from his home and leaving him at the park.
As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He put the beast out and headed home.
Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further and the cat would always beat him home. At last he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again and another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.
Hours later the man calls home to his wife: "Jen, is the cat there?"
"Yes", the wife answers. "Why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answered, "Put that son of a bitch on the phone! I'm lost and need directions!"

I started out with ONE kitty,
I couldn't resist her face.
Then, I realized she had a sister,
and there were TWO kitties at my place.catsmilk.jpg

A friend had to move away,
and her kitty couldn't go.
So, of course, I took her in;
and I had THREE cats, wouldn't you know.

Numbers FOUR and FIVE
were orphaned one day.
I added them to our family
and watched them all at play.

Little number SIX
showed up at our door.
I saw no harm in another,
but weakly said, "No more!"

What would you have done,
if number SEVEN was left one night?
Part of an abandoned litter,
EIGHT, NINE, TEN...I didn't put up a fight.

We were a growing family,
but how much bigger...?
A tiny little lost kitty,
I named number ELEVEN Tigger.

The last two to join us,
numbers TWELVE and THIRTEEN;catcuriousity.jpg
were Christmas gifts from Santa.
Meet Sara and Eileen.

I love them all dearly.
They each own my heart.
Who would have ever expected
THIRTEEN kitties at the start?

Each one has a name,
you've met Tigger, Sara and Eileen.
Now meet Tara, Patches, Whiskers,
Topaz, Zesty and Irene.

Over here are the rest
of my little family.
Bootsie, Kira, Lucy,
and the littlest one, Misty.

Every life should have NINE cats,
sometimes even more than that.
The joy they bring is endless,
so open your heart and home to a CAT.

Hey, I'm first. I have been waiting for a chance to say that on someone's blog.
...Nice post on cats. I have a cat post planned, but I keep getting side-tracked by other ideas.

Cats do run the house, no doubt about it. My cat, in her kidney failing condition, is more finicky than ever. She's grown tired of tunafish (which is fine by me!) and is now eating ham, turkey, chicken, and roast beef. She eats better than I do, but this is the kicker: I chop the meat in the food processor so she can eat it. Spoiled rotten, but she's worth it :-)

Thanks for the laughs, I wasn't able to check all the links but will be back later.

Have a great day!

That's a shame aabout Tiddles.... a tragedy that would have been easily avoided.

Hi,

I saw you post at Actor's blog today. It's very sad about his kittycat. Mine passed away in January and her birthday is today. :( I have a new kitty, but she's not the old kitty.

Sigh.

Anyway, I saw this clip of a kitty playing with a Mac recently and it's pretty hysterical.

Thanks for the kitty laughs. I love the little critters...

Mike, you really have to be on your feet to beat the Europeans and the ones who get automatic pings!

Elderta, thats the one I labeled "most expensive cat toy".

Kipling, thanks! That will be on the next edition. "Cats" is a recurring topic here.

Miss Cellania!

So many links, so many links to miss! Sorry, I didn't see that one! So tiny, it missed it! :)

LOVE this post! I love cats, but am deathly allergic to them. :P I laughed hysterically over the kitty blog cartoon. That is PRICELESS!

Saur-

Try a product called Allerpet C. It's brushed into the cat's fur once a week. I used to have an allergic roommaate, and we had 4 cats! The stuff really worked.

Wow. What great links for cat stuff. I'm writing a post on the 11th on cats and will include a link to your extravaganza here. Calico cats are the best. Thanks for all the links....

My boyfriend owns four cats, all adopted...One showed up at my door when I was 11. People used to dump kittens in this little canyon where we lived. I suppose they thoughtthat the cats could live "in the wild," they couldn't. One brazen little orange and white fellow showed up and I just had to have him. He was terrific. "Talked" to me every morning at breakfast. My favorite childhood pet.

I don't EVER want to share my toilet with a cat!

My daughter asked for a kitten today. I said okay, and then she said, "No. It will be so much work." I couldn't believe it!

Great feline post!!
